If you're looking to know your London Dry from your Navy Strength or Old Tom and need some help choosing from the thousands of gins out there... GreatGins might just be the tonic.

This fantastic addition to the Spirit of Harrogate’s Slingsby line up is not a Gin to miss. It brings a fresh and fruity addition to accompany the classic London Dry Gin also in the range.

Harrogate is a special place for Marcus Black and Mike Carthy, the geniuses behind this Gin. Not only are they residents of this quintessential North Yorkshire Town, but it is the inspiration for their delicious Gin.

Black and Carthy where inspired by the freshness of the Yorkshire waters and picturesque scenery as well as the long and diverse heritage of the surroundings.

Initially just a limited edition small batch, Slingsby Rhubarb gathered a following and has become a permanent member of the Spirit of Harrogate Drinks family.

In the making, Slingsby’s took their popular London Dry and combined it with the finest hand grown Yorkshire Rhubarb to form a rather interesting Gin. Together the whole concoction draws the line exactly right between tart and sweet.

Slingsby Rhubarb Gin has the same botanicals as the Slingsby London Dry. This is a huge roster of 24 different botanicals infused with the best Harrogate Spring Water and single grain spirit. Many of the botanicals are sourced locally and include three types of thyme, juniper and of course a large quantity of rhubarb.

This Gin stands out from the crowd with its local emphasis and superbly tuned flavouring.

The nose presents an enticingly sweet rhubarb which is a delicious precursor for what is to come.

It bounces of the duller juniper notes, which are obvious but play second fiddle to the tang of the rhubarb.

The plate is both sweet and bitter, with delightful tones of sugary rhubarb complimented by citrusy notes with juniper spice.

Here the juniper and thyme really make themselves known. They are herby and rich, with a slightly earthen quality to them.

Citrus also comes into play, adding a nice zest that goes perfectly with the rhubarb.

The finish turns tart with the rhubarb dropping its sweetness for a lingering conclusion.

Any lover of the sweet and sour is sure to delight in this Gin, reveling in the wonderful melting together of the two flavour’s that has been created.
