If you're looking to know your London Dry from your Navy Strength or Old Tom and need some help choosing from the thousands of gins out there... GreatGins might just be the tonic.

Loch Fyne is so much more than just a body of water. In fact, they sell enough spirits to actually create a body of alcohol, and no one would say no to that.

Loch Fyne Whiskies was originally set up in 1993, on the outskirts of a little town called Inveraray, close to Argyll.

Since then they have come a long way, being regarded as one of the best and most knowledgeable Whisky retailers in the business.  Don’t just take our word for it, they’ve won awards from all over the world both for their retail as well as for the Whiskies they produce.

At the heart of Loch Fyne is a belief that sharing knowledge is the key to gaining knowledge and they will happily impart as much Whisky wisdom as it is possible to take in.

They offer an impressive amount of different malts at their shop and online, and they also host tastings and classes.

As well as selling a wide range of brands, Loch Fyne has branched into producing their own Whisky.

They have won a number of awards for these, including several Liquid Golds from Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible.

Recently, they have decided to go even further down the production route and have begun crafting their own Gins.

This Gin is packed with Scottish maritime botanicals and lots of juniper.

It is truly impressive, and only goes to show just how good Loch Fyne is at crafting wonderful spirits.

They have learnt a lot over the years creating Whisky, and it certainly shows in their Gin.

The Loch Fyne Botanical Gin brims with flavour. The nose opens with lots of aromatic notes and a thick, rich juniper note.

The juniper is piney and earthy, like it has been plucked straight from the ground.

The palate is full of basil and thyme, with herbal notes complementing the earthy qualities perfectly.

More citrus tones come out as well, especially orange and lemon. The lemon peel is soft and slightly warming.

The palate is just full of flavour and the juniper berries definitely lead the way. They mingle with the citrus fruits and give them real depth.

Loch Fyne have proven themselves to be a fantastic spirits producer in the past, and if their Gin is anything to go by, they definitely have an even brighter future.
